Everyday Calculators & Tools

Sometimes you just need a calculator. This section has a basic calculator with a keypad and history, a scientific calculator for trigonometry, logarithms, powers and factorials, and a time zone converter that handles daylight saving automatically. Everything runs in your browser and works with your keyboard.

Built for quick use

The basic and scientific calculators evaluate a full expression with correct operator precedence, so 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, and parentheses work the way they do on paper. Results are kept in a history list you can click to reuse. The scientific calculator supports degrees and radians, memory keys, and typed input such as sin(30) + sqrt(16).

The time zone converter uses your browser's built-in time zone database, so it applies daylight saving rules correctly for any date. The EST, PST, CST, BST and GMT to IST pages add a full 24-hour conversion table and the best hours for meetings between the two zones.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculator follow order of operations?

Yes. Multiplication and division are evaluated before addition and subtraction, powers before those, and parentheses first. Type the expression as you would write it and the result is computed in one step.

Can I use my keyboard?

Yes. Digits, + - * / ^ ( ) and % all work, Enter evaluates, Backspace deletes the last character and Escape clears. In the scientific calculator you can also type function names such as sin, cos, log, ln and sqrt.

How does the time zone converter handle daylight saving?

It uses the IANA time zone database built into modern browsers, which knows the daylight saving rules for every zone and every date. Pick the date and the correct offset is applied automatically, including the days when clocks change.
