Math Calculators

Core math tools for school, work or a quick check: a scientific calculator, a percentage calculator that covers the four questions people actually ask, a fraction calculator that simplifies and converts, an average calculator for mean, median and mode, and a basic calculator for everyday arithmetic.

Choosing the right calculator

Use the basic calculator for straightforward sums. Switch to the scientific calculator for trigonometry, logarithms, powers and factorials. The percentage calculator covers what X% of Y is, what percent X is of Y, the percent change between two numbers, and increasing or decreasing a number by a percentage. The fraction calculator adds, subtracts, multiplies or divides two fractions and simplifies the result. The average calculator turns a list of numbers into the mean, median, mode and range in one step.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between mean, median and mode?

The mean is the sum divided by the count. The median is the middle value once the numbers are sorted, or the average of the two middle values for an even count. The mode is the value that appears most often. The average calculator shows all three at once.

How do I simplify a fraction?

Divide the numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor. The fraction calculator does this automatically after any addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, and also shows the decimal and mixed-number forms.

How do I calculate a percentage increase?

Subtract the original value from the new value, divide by the original value, and multiply by 100. The percentage calculator has a dedicated mode for this, and for the reverse question, increasing a number by a given percentage.
