Online Notepad
Content updated .
Write in a full-size, lined notepad. Open a text file, save a local draft, download your notes or switch to focus view.
How to use it
Type in the writing area or use Open for a text file up to 2 MB. Save draft keeps text on this device; Download creates a .txt file. New removes the saved draft and clears the editor, asking first if there are unsaved changes.
Useful example
Use it for a meeting agenda, shopping list, scratch copy or any text you want to move into another app later.
Saving a draft is different from saving a file
Save draft stores the current text and filename in this browser on this device. It is manual, not autosave or cloud sync. Download creates a separate TXT file you can back up or move. Click the filename to rename your note, or choose a name in the save dialog.
Frequently asked questions
Will my notes return after I close the tab?
Only the last draft you explicitly saved can be restored in this browser. Private browsing, clearing site data or changing browsers can remove or hide it. Download important notes.
How do I open and rename a text file?
Choose File → Open for a plain-text file up to 2 MB. Click the filename above the editor to rename the document. Download writes a new copy; it does not overwrite your original local file.
What does New do to a saved draft?
New clears the editor and removes the saved draft and its name. The tool asks before discarding unsaved changes. A previously downloaded file is not removed.
